At SVC Wild, we believe a great team experience starts with great people — on and off the court. Here's how we ask all families to show up.
1. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
- Model positive, inclusive behaviour for all players and parents
- Volunteer for at least one role (line judging, scorekeeping, driving, food, team manager, etc.)
- Support team bonding — encourage your child to participate in group meals and events
- On away trips, stay with the team rather than separately (exceptions considered)
2. Fuel the Fun
- Prioritize healthy snacks and meals during tournaments and playdays
- Sign up for food duties and coordinate through your team manager
- Share food responsibilities fairly; keep receipts for reimbursement
- Respect dietary restrictions and allergies
3. Help Capture the Moments
- Volunteer to video games and share footage with the team
- Always respect privacy — never post images without permission
- Follow club and league guidelines for photography and video
4. Know the Costs
- Understand what club fees cover and what's extra
- Pay required fees up front; keep receipts for pre-approved team expenses
- Participate in fundraising activities as needed
5. Respect the Whistle
- Always show respect for referees, officials, and coaches
- Never approach coaches about playing time during games
- Wait 24 hours before raising concerns; communicate respectfully and privately
- Encourage your child to speak directly with coaches about their development
- Contact the Club President for serious or unresolved concerns
6. Suit Up for Success
- Ensure your child wears the full club uniform and proper footwear
- Pack knee pads, arm sleeves, both sets of court jerseys, water bottle, and required gear
- When wearing club gear in public, athletes represent SVC Wild
7. Play by the Rules
- Review the BC Volleyball Handbook for official rules
- Encourage your child to learn and respect the rules of the game
8. Communicate with Care
- Use TeamSnap for all team communication
- Keep attendance up to date and check regularly for updates
- Address concerns away from games and practices, never in front of others
- All coach-player digital communication takes place on TeamSnap for transparency
9. Show Up on Time
- Arrive on time for practices, games, and events
- Pick up your child on time from practices
- Notify coaches of absences or conflicts as early as possible
10. Model Respect and Sportsmanship
- Cheer for all players, not just your own child
- Avoid negative comments about players, referees, coaches, or other teams
- Praise effort, growth, and teamwork over winning
- Support mental health and well-being for all athletes
All athletes participating on a competitive team are required to sign a Family and Athlete Agreement with the club.
